Chichester Art Society

Chichester Art Society was founded in 1939 and is currently celebrating its 70th anniversary. The President is artist Peter Atkins. We offer a wide programme throughout the year with evening meetings and daytime classes. Our venue is convenient for those with mobility problems and for parking.

We meet twice a month and offer a varied programme of evening meetings, including critiques of members' work by practising artists, demos and illustrated talks and workshops. We have a library that members can use. We make 10 awards during the year for members' work in different media. Our Annual Exhibition is in June and we also have a Christmas Sale of members' work. We have two daytime groups for Life Drawing and Portraits. Members can join coach trips to London exhibitions and sketching outings. We have some special events for 2009 our 70th anniversary year.

We have about 160 members from professional and semi-professional to serious and hobby amateurs plus some non-painting members. Our membership is open to all, regardless of experience or competence, and we welcome young and old.

You can download a joining form from our website www.chi-art-soc.org or ring 01243 602360 for further details. Membership is £25 pa (£45 for two people at one address) or £15 for students up to age 22 and runs from January 1st.
