The Epping Art Society was formed in 1996 to offers all art lovers in the area the opportunity of joining others who wish to further their knowledge and skills.
The Society's chairman Sally Macpherson spreads her wings over a very active committee sending out a monthly magazine and organizing biannual exhibitions for members to display their work.
The next exhibition will be in May this year and information on this will be available by the end of this month.
Many members and non-members meet monthly at Pelly Court in Hemnall Street every second Wednesday of the month at 8pm for a presentation on art with a break for tea, coffee, biscuits and a friendly chat. The next meeting will be on the 11th April and for all those who love colour a 'Demonstration in Acrylics' will be made by the accomplished artist Hamish Akbid. Our practical evening on ‘Tall Buildings/Urban Landscape’ was extreamly good and many interesting pictures were produced and can be viewed in the gallery. Our next practical will be about 'Mono Printing' under the guidance of Sally Macpherson to show us the technique needed. All materials will be provided. This is open to all members from 7.30pm at the Methodist Church Hall in the High Street. Tea and coffee will be available on a break half way through the evening.
Membership of the society has risen steadily through consecutive years and presently stands at 114, making it the one of the most successful Art Society in the area.
