Sandra Pond
Submitted by Chris Baber on Tue, 10/01/2012 - 12:17I have worked as a professional artist since leaving Norwich School of Art and Design where I received the annual award for outstanding achievement on graduating in 1977. Although widely known for my finely detailed and accurate botanical and wildlife illustrations for publishers worldwide, I have also illustrated children's books and such wide ranging subjects as gardening, cookery, DIY, biology, fantasy and sport. I work from my cottage studio and library in Suffolk where I spend many hours researching subjects, often using books I have myself illustrated as reference. Painting to deadlines often involves long hours alone so I very much enjoy passing on my knowledge to others at my art classes. I run regular evening and some daytime classes and workshops at Pin Mill. Details can be found at www.sandrapond.com where you can see samples of my work and learn more about my professional life.
I also undertake talks and workshops to societies, schools and other interested organisations.
